Our customer was looking for a blind for their living room patio doors. The blind needed to offer a good level of light reduction as the sun comes streaming through the glass most of the day.
The blind also needed to be very neutral and plain to fit in well with the room decoration.
The blind that best suited the doors is a vertical blind. The vertical blind offers the flexibility of being able to pull the blind out of the way when coming in and out of the garden and also to control the level of light into the room. The fabric chosen was Memphis Cream. This is a blackout fabric meaning it does not allow light to pass through the fabric but will still creep through the gaps between the slats. This was the perfect choice as it allowed the owner to tilt the slats to the direction of the sun reducing the amount of light coming into the room but still allowing some light into the room. These are a great option when compared to curtains. If you draw curtains to keep the strong sunshine out you can sometimes need to put the light on.
